Hey Pumpkins

What cute pumpkins! Just down the road from us is the sweetest pumpkin patch, Green Spot. Great place to take our little preschool class to. We visited the honey house. Ran through the hay maze. Said "Hi" to the animals. Climbed on a train. Picked a pumpkin. And rode on the farm tractor through the farm fields and hills.

I always have such a hard time choosing a pumpkin. Not one of them is the same. I love long and skinny ones. I love the short and round ones too. I love the white ones and the perfect bright orange ones too. And even if they have some green on it or a scratch or two, i love them just the same.

Beautiful autumn morning.

Where the Wild Things are...

from The HaLLens

We enjoyed Thanksgiving Day at the Wild Animal Zoo with Gary & Cheryl's family. Here's a little known secret: Best day to go to either the San Diego Zoo or the Wild Animal Park is on Thanksgiving Day. No lines. Close parking to front gates. Cool weather. Few people. Active animals. Great day!

Peter was in heaven. He saw all his favorite animals. I've never heard "wow" so many times in one day. We loved being with our cousins again. It's been a long four months...

Oh, so many more pictures...but so little time for posting them.

No Tricks but lots of Treats

Trick or treating was kind of different when I was little. Lots of homemade costumes, pillowcases for treat bags, and tricks. Yes, I had a neighbor that made us do a trick for the treats. John tells the story of his favorite childhood costume. Darth Vader. His mom made the mask out of a Clorox bottle. He smelt Clorox all night. He teases her that the fumes burnt his nostrils.

Home on a Friday Night

We got into the Halloween spooky spirit tonight. We borrowed the movie, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from the Bowman's. Popped popcorn. Changed into pajamas. Turned down the lights. What a treat! I love scaring my children. It was Andrew's first viewing of this great movie. When was the last time you were scared like that? [I'm not talking about the current stock market woes.]For me, it was in July camping with Duane's family at Mesa Verde, Colorado. Duane told us the scariest story I've ever heard. I hope they all sleep well tonight. Cover your heads.
